#MyHealthCareMatters

Everyday we hear stories of despair from residents of British Columbia unable to access health care. People lining up for hours to get an appointment in a walk in clinic, people that can’t get prescriptions refilled, families without a general practitioner, children and seniors unable to get the care they need. The current family doctor exodus happening in the province is one of the biggest contributors to the health care crisis we are in. Almost one in five British Columbians don’t have a general practitioner and more have a hard time accessing primary health care. We hear from these people. We are these people. Our voices need to be heard. We need health care. We deserve health care.

This is why we decided to make our voices heard. We want those in charge of our healthcare system to see us and hear how this health care crisis is impacting our lives every single day.

We want to hear from you, whether you don’t have a doctor, or if you have one but aren’t able to get the health care you need. Share a selfie of you holding up a few words that describe why having a family doctor matters to you. You can share the picture on social media using the hashtag #MyHealthCareMatters, tag us or email us your selfie at bchcmmedia@gmail.com.

Tagged and e-mailed images will be used in a Digital Media and Paper Media Campaign owned and presented by BC Health Care Matters.
